Atlantic is the first believer in founders, science and bold ideas. We lead pre-seed rounds across Europe with speed and conviction, backing ambitious founders from day one and supporting them hands-on, especially with fundraising and hiring. What it means to be an investor at Atlantic

As a pre-seed fund, our great advantage is finding the right founders before they are obvious. This is a sourcing-heavy, high-autonomy role for someone who is self-driven, intellectually rigorous, and thrives with limited structure. You will work across the full investment cycle, from identifying non-obvious founders to supporting them through their earliest and most critical stages. We are looking for someone with a hunter's instinct, an AI-first mindset, and the conviction that pre-seed is where the most interesting work happens.

How you'll spend your time

• Source and build relationships with founders across Europe, with a focus on uncovering opportunities that are not visible on standard deal platforms

• Travel regularly to meet founders on-site, attend events, and build deep ecosystem relationships in target geographies

• Evaluate investment opportunities end-to-end, from first meeting through to due diligence, investment decision and closing

• Develop a strong point of view on our current thesis areas: AI and Compute, Energy and Climate, Industrial and Robotics, and Space and Security

• Stay ahead of where the market is going. Hype cycles shift. We need someone who is fundamentally curious about uncovering the next important topic, not just going deep on today's

• Partner with portfolio founders on their growth journey, attending board meetings, advising on strategic and operational challenges, and supporting through subsequent funding rounds

• Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with founders long after our initial investment, sparring on go-to-market, commercial, technical, hiring, and fundraising topics

• Represent Atlantic with credibility and conviction. You are often the first touchpoint a founder has with. Earn their trust through technical depth, genuine curiosity and the kind of presence that makes exceptional founders want to partner with us

• Strengthen our presence in target ecosystems, particularly in the UK, Eastern Europe, and Southern Europe

What we're looking for

You are someone who is deeply drawn to early-stage investing and finding generational founders others are not yet looking at. You are technically curious, well versed in the deeptech or AI ecosystem, and comfortable forming independent views. Whether you have built your career inside VC or come from an operating background at a relevant startup, what matters is that you have real conviction about this path and the drive to back it up. Specifically, you have:

• Existing investment experience at a VC, or a strong operating background at a relevant VC-backed startup. If you haven't worked in VC, we expect a demonstrated track record of finding and backing founders early, whether through angel investing or other means

• Technical fluency, whether through an engineering, data, or AI background, or through deep and genuine engagement with technical founders and products

• A generalist mindset with a clear spike across hard tech, physical AI, defence, or AI-native software

• Genuine familiarity with AI tools and workflows. You use AI as a natural part of how you think, research, and operate, not as an occasional experiment

• A strong sourcing instinct. You find founders through relationships, curiosity, and effort, not by waiting for inbound. You are already embedded in the ecosystems that matter to you

• Integrity and conviction. You are technically credible enough to evaluate deeptech or AI-native opportunities and compelling enough that the best founders actively want you in their corner

• Willingness to travel extensively across Europe

• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate. This is where the role starts, with potential to anchor a presence in another European city longer term

• Fluent in English. Additional European languages (German, Polish, Italian) are highly advantageous for ecosystem access
